The Dan Practice routine section, chapter ,page , thingy.

Danny - My Practice routine was another beast entirely. And sooo satisfying.

Here is what I did

I would have been humming and gently warming up in the car on my way home from whatI was doing that day

When I got home,I would grab my big 15 ounce glass of hydration and head off to my practice room.

I would start my session with the scales that I was working on with my vocal coach.

I would then sing a half a dozen fun songs to get in the zone.

Then, get on with some serious singing

In the early days l lived in a flat and so I didn't upset the neighbours. I converted a wardrobe into my sound proofish booth.

I put a light and music stand inside and a rubber mattress over the top of the open doors to reduce the noise.

I would then go into full sing mode and work on the songs I needed to learn for the coming weekend.

The practice session always went longer than I had planned … the joy of singing was always the highlight of my day.

I did that 5 days a week and never really changed that practice routine.

Prioritise your passion for your singing and the lord, think of it as praying, you always find time for that.

Human nature is to say,, I'll do it when I find time… bad plan… you will never find the time.

Remember Procrastination is your enemy.

Here is your fool-proof routine…

When you get home… from whatever you are doing…

Put on the kettle, make a cuppa and then put a designated amount of time aside.. Mine was an hour.

Nothing interrupts your designated cuppa and singing,, !!!!!!!!

the washing can wait,

the meal can wait

the food shopping can wait

socialising can wait

The kids will still be there when you finish,, probably……..

You will be amazed at how empowered you feel, how satisfied you feel , by providing yourself with that sing time which builds awareness, knowledge and confidence giving a feeling of self achievement and great preparation for worship

And,, don’t slip out of the routine that achieves all the things you want and need…

Routine is one of the hardest, yet easiest things to do.

take control of your time.

Eg.. trigger.. Motivation,,, why do you sing?
