The Kenaniah Method™

The Kenaniah Method™ begins with the understanding that the human voice has a significant role in biblical worship.

Through the voice, the Church has been given a verbal and musical means to express, proclaim and respond to the truth of who God is and what He has done.

Why Voice?

Throughout Scripture, God's people sing, speak, declare, praise, teach, encourage and respond using the human voice.

The voice carries both words and sound. What we sing matters, and how we use the voice affects our ability to communicate it.

The Kenaniah Method™ therefore treats vocal development not as an end in itself, but as the preparation of a voice entrusted for purpose.

What is my voice actually here to do?

For many worship singers, particularly those who are not the worship leader, this is an important question. They may not choose the key or arrangement, speak to the congregation or determine what part they sing. Yet they still carry responsibility for how they prepare, listen, respond and contribute within the team.

The Kenaniah Method™ helps singers understand both their responsibility as a worship singer and their place as a singer in worship so that their choices are made with understanding, intention and purpose.

Not all worship singers are the leaders

The Kenaniah Approach

Skill serves purpose

Vocal skill is not the destination. It gives worship singers greater capacity to use their voice reliably, expressively and intentionally for what they are asked and entrusted to do.

Preparation supports freedom

Preparation develops understanding and confidence, allowing worship singers to adapt and respond rather than remain dependent on imitation.

Authenticity is not a style

Authentic worship is not a particular sound or outward expression. Singers learn to use their own voice and respond genuinely while still serving the song, the team and the gathered worship of the Church.

The Kenaniah Growth Journey™

Awareness → Knowledge → Confidence → Freedom™

The Kenaniah Growth Journey™ describes the development from recognising what is happening, to understanding it, trusting what has been learned and gaining greater freedom to respond to the Spirits leading.

Who The Kenaniah Method Is For

The Kenaniah Method™ is for worship singers, including worship leaders, backing vocalists, musicians who sing and singers at different stages of vocal development.

It also provides worship leaders, music directors and church leaders with a framework and shared language for better understanding the singers they lead.
